Current Projects
CSA / Wairarapa Eco Farms - wefs.co.nz
Since the start of 2012 I have been working with Wairarapa Eco Farms. My main objective is to continue my learning in soil ecology and ecological food growing. Many people think of me as a gardener, but the reality is that I have a lot of theoretical knowledge that needs grounding in practical experience.
The primary market for our produce is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme. My particular interest is in the community of microbes in the soil that feeds the community of microbes in the guts of communities of people and contributes towards their health and wellbeing - taking community to a whole new level!
Southern Seed Exchange - southernseed.org.nz
Recently my work for the Southern Seed Exchange has been focused on maintaining the database of stock we hold and producing our yearly seed list. In the coming months I'll be dedicating more time to developing the seed exchange website (very basic at the moment) and to facilitating seed saving/breeding workshops.
Wellington South Timebank - wellingtontimebank.org.nz
My involvement with the Wellington South Timebank so far is limited to creating the website. I'm really excited about the timebank though and looking forward to getting more involved. I've accrued a number of hours working on the website and can't wait to start cashing in some hours on things like bike maintenance, surfing lessons, sewing lessons, guitar lessons...
